  • Thanksgiving "Feed 1,000" Program: Thursday, November 25th, Yes, on Thanksgiving morning Greer Relief distributes over 100 boxed lunches to clients.  Volunteers are needed to pick up, organize the site and distribute the boxed lunches.  *Family friendly opportunity!
  • Volunteers Needed Daily!  Greer Relief is in need of dedicated volunteers who are interested in serving a Greater Greer Community. Volunteer opportunities include administration, food drive coordinator, facility support, special events,. For high school students...this is a great opportunity to give back to your community in need and position yourself for college applications. Stop in today and fill out a volunteer application, and join us for the Greer Relief Volunteer Orientation, held on the last Monday of the month, from 2:00 pm—3:00 pm > August 30th, September 27th, October 25th, November 27th, no session is scheduled for December.

Past Events:
  • AmeriCorps VISTA Volunteer, Tariq Rashid has served for the last 12 months as our Volunteer & In-Kind Donation Coordinator.  He has completed his commitment to Greer Relief and the AmeriCorps VISTA program.  He was responsible for formalizing our Volunteer program, participating in speaking engagements, and most often directing volunteers in the food pantry and donation pick ups.  Thank you Tariq!
  • CB&L,Citizen Building & Loan: has awarded Greer Relief with a $10,000 Community Foundation Grant to address the growing need for rent, mortgage and prescription assistance in the Greater Greer community.  Even with funding in the thousands this type of assistance goes quickly.  Client assistance has grown in 2008 & 2009 by a rate of 20% each year.
  • BI-LO Charities Hunger Relief Food Drive: Thanks to two partners in the community, BI-LO Charities and Eagle Scout Michael Farr, 100% of the food contributions from the BI-LO Dill Creek store went to stock the Greer Relief food pantry.  Michael Farr is taking it one step farther and continuing his Eagle Scout Project beyond the BI-LO Food Drive.  Thank you BI-LO Charities & Michael Farr!!!
  • School Supply Giveaway: August, Thank you for helping Greer Relief in our efforts to ensure that educational supplies are provided at no cost for students from families who cannot afford to purchase them. We partnered with Greer Community Ministries to help 69 Greer Relief children with essential school supplies (e.g. crayons, pencils, notebooks, folders)
  • Hunger Awareness: June—August, School was out and you came through helping keep the pantry stocked to serve more people and keep our kids in the Greater Greer community from starving! Great Job!
  • Freedom Blast  Children’s Ride & Run: Saturday, July 3rd 7:30 AM - 10 AM. Greer Memorial Hospital System is hosting a duathlon, bike/run race at Greer City Park in conjunction with the City of Greer Freedom Blast event.  The race is open to children 5 - 8 & 9 - 12 years old. Activities will be provided by Greer Memorial Hospital, SSI and the Greenville Triathlon Club.
  • Greer Relief has made it's way to WYFF and YouTube, by way of the Greater Greer Cultural Arts Council...check it out
  • “Oliver” has collected 1,395 items to help the hungry in the Greater Greer Area! We are still collecting, come to Greer Relief and mention "Oliver!" and your donation will go toward their goal of 4,000 items. Thank you!
  • HOG Day: On Saturday, May 1st, 7 volunteers from BP Barber built 4 custom donation sorting boxes. Thank you! Check out the pictures...here
  • Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive
    Postal Food Drive: Saturday, May 8th, the largest food drive of the year.  Postal Workers from Greer collected enough food to fill a small U-Haul. THANK YOU GREER FOR YOUR SUPPORT OF THE FOOD PANTRY!
  • 2010_bmw_tournament
    The BMW Charity Pro-Am was played Thursday, May 13 through Sunday, May 16 at Bright’s Creek Golf Club, The Carolina Country Club and Thornblade Club. The BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by SYNNEX Corporation is the only tournament on the Nationwide Tour where amateurs and celebrities are grouped with Nationwide Tour professionals in a four-day better-ball competition over three courses. Amateurs, celebrities and pros rotate between three courses on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, with the 14 lowest scoring pro-amateur/pro-celebrity teams advancing to play Sunday's final round at Thornblade Club.  Greer Relief by volunteering ($40) and selling Patron Credentials ($25).  Thank you!
