  • BI-LO Charities boostersplus: This is the easiest fundraiser Greer Relief will ever ask you to help with and it does not cost you a penny! The enrollment process is easy and you only have to sign up once a year.  On your next trip to your local BI-LO.  First scan your BI-LO Bonus Card, then scan the Greer Relief boostersplus barcode. Starting the month after you register, BI-LO Charities will donate up to 1% of your purchase amount to Greer Relief.  The scan is good till June, then you must rescan to opt back into the program.  For further information on the program click the boostersplus logo.   • Envelope_for_NewsletterCaring People Working Together: Double Your Donation! We have a special matching opportunity, Greer Relief can receive a dollar-for-dollar match for all donations designated with CPW.  These donations go out dollar-for-dollar for emergency financial utility assistance. Every contribution is greatly appreciated and will help those in the community who are struggling to make ends meet. CPW Customers look for the envelope in your November bill!
  • FuddruckersFuddruckers Benefit, December 19th, 5 PM - 8 PM: Fuddruckers of Greer raised almost $100 for Greer Relief. Thanks Fuddruckers of Greer Team for the support.
  • Adopt-A-Family Christmas Program 2011: There are many families in our community who will not have Christmas gifts unless we share our many blessings with them.   • Sauce for a Cause, December 7th: Greer Relief had another community dinner at John Knox Presbyterian Church, 35 Shannon Drive, Greenville, as part of their Wednesday Night Programs.  Thank you John Knox for your support!!
  • Greer Jaycees Christmas Parade, Sunday, December 4th, 3 PM: The Magic of Christmas is quickly approaching!   • Sauce for a Cause, Nobember 27th, 3 PM - 7 PM: Greer Relief will have another community dinner at First Presbyterian Church of Greer, 100 School Street, Greer, to kick off the Advent Season.  Volunteers are needed to help set-up, serve the meal, and clean up.   • Thanksgiving "Feed 1,000" Program, Thursday, November 25th: Greer Relief partnered again with Loaves and Fishes again this year to provide Thanksgiving meals to those in need within the Greater Greer area. Volunteers are needed to pick up the boxed meals in Greenville and distribute them at Greer Relief on Thanksgiving day.
  • 2011_BBQ_Logo_-_DollySooie't Relief BBQ Benefit: raised $27,000!  Sooie't Relief BBQ Benefit is a sanctioned Kansas City BBQ Society event. SAVE THE DATE for 2012 Friday, August 24th - Saturday, August 25th. KCBS Competition BBQ Vendrors will be again cooking on the street for the crowd.  The place to BE for the BEST BBQ in the Upstate!  Check out the photos on facebook!   • BI-LO_CharitiesBI-LO Charities Summer Hunger Relief Food Drive, July 13th - August 23rd: BI-LO knows that this is a difficult time for food collections and what makes it worse is that families' needs increase in the summer without school lunch programs.  Greer Relief was selected to receive the hunger boxes sold at the Dill Creek BI-LO, 1365 W. Wade Hampton Blvd., Greer. Each box contained Southern Home Cut Green Beans, Southern Home Mac and Cheese, Southern Home Tuna, Southern Home Instant Grits, Clear Value Corn Muffin Mix Southern, Home Chicken Noodle Soup.  Thank you Greer! for helping us feed the less fortunate in our community today.
  • Grow to Glean: Calling all home gardeners and farmers! As you plant your seeds please consider the biblical tradition of dedicating a portion of crops for gleaning. An extra row of corn...okra... tomatoes...cucumbers...or any crop you grow, can provide nutrition to needy families.  Please contact Rev.   • "Upcycled” Living Fair & Market, Saturday, June 25th - Sunday, June 26th: at the lovely Poinsett West Gardens, 1013 W. Poinsett Street, sponsored by The Grapevine, 205 Trade Street, Greer. The most interesting “upcycled” creations from vendors across the upstate, everything from altered clothing to home/garden art & decor!  Lots of "Green Living" ideas that you can use every day!  The silent auction benefited Greer Relief and the admission benefited Daily Bread Ministries.   • 2011 WSI Golf for Relief, June 20th: On Monday, June 20th, Greer Relief took over the Links O'Tryon Golf Course for the 5th Annual Golf for Relief and WSI: Warehouse Services once again lead the way by taking the Title Sponsorship.  Check out our event photos!
  • Postal Food Drive, May 14th: Greer Relief loaded over 100 postal bins full of food onto a U-Haul from All Star Storage. This food drive fills our food pantry through the summer and sometimes into winter.  Thank you Greer for supporting Greer Relief, Greer Community Ministries and Daily Bread Ministries with this wonderful show of support for your neighbors!
  • Volunteer Appreciation Social, May 5th: Greer Relief's 1st Annual Volunteer Appreciation event was a wonderful success.  Volunteers enjoyed a fabulous spreat of food donated by Fatz Cafe, Henry's BBQ, and Zaxby's.We are so lucky to have our volunteers, who we couldn't do without. THANK YOU!
  • Care Fair 2011, April 30th, 10 AM - 2 PM: organized by Helping Hands at 3610 Brushy Creek Road, Greer, (across from Kids Planet).  Helping Hands gave away a free box of food to the first 500 families in need and Greer Relief gave away diapers to needy families.  The Care Fair served hot dogs, drinks, a bounce house, face painting, entertainment, puppet shows and much more.
  • VITA, January 18th - April 15th: Households making under $49,000 a year were provided the opportunity to participate in VITA @ Greer Relief. What is VITA? VITA stands for Volunteer Income Tax Assistance, a partnership between the United Way and the IRS to provide free tax assistance for those with low to moderate income.  VITA was at Greer Relief, January 18th - April 15th and during the 2011 tax season Greer Relief completed 170 tax returns = $195,388...averaging $1,149 per household, FOR FREE!
  • Sauce for a Cause: Greer Relief held 2 community dinners at John Knox Presbyterian Church as part of their Wednesday Night Programs.   Thanks John Knox for your support! The event was a wonderful success because of our volunteers.  A special thanks to the Starbucks of Greer for providing 6 volunteers for this event.
  • Rummage for a Reason, February 25th - February 26th: sponsored by Uptown of Spartanburg Sertoma Club and at a bigger better location,  2660 Reidville Road, Spartanburg. Greer Relief raised over $1,000 at Rummage for A Reason...Thanks to the Uptown of Spartanburg Sertoma Club, our volunteers, and supporters (All Star Storge & UHaul)!
